Trumbull replies to Hollister's request for the record of appointment of Woodruff Emmons as a sheriff's deputy, mentioning the 1765 case of Bayard v. Gay in the Litchfield Superior Court, and discusses his own work on court records. Recommends a translation of Rabelais by Thomas Urquhart.
